Adirondack comeback: Monday notes

It may be a port in a storm before the Western Migration, but Calgary is in fact bringing the kids to Glens Falls in the fall. The Flames replace the Phantoms. More details (including nickname and conference alignment, which could blow some stuff up if they want to stay with some of the other Canadian affiliates in the West) to come.

Speaking of Abbotsford, two-time Calder Cup champ Dean Arsene has retired.

From Sunday, Chicago advanced to the second round with a come-from-behind win over Rochester (which got another goal from Sound Tigers camper Brayden Irwin). It’ll face Toronto while Texas draws Grand Rapids. The second round begins Tuesday with Norfolk at St. John’s.

The USHL is in the middle of its draft. Only local I caught was forward Jack Badini of Greenwich, 52nd to Lincoln.

The World Championship begins Friday. And of course we can read Swedish: The tournament is being played in Vitryssland.

And RIP, Ross Lonsberry
