Graham signs/QMJHL draft

He did fine in his ATO, and now he’ll get a chance to do it every night: Jesse Graham agreed to terms on an ELC, the Islanders announced this afternoon, beating tomorrow’s deadline to sign him. (That closes business for this year, at least among those picks that have to be done this summer.) Graham, a righty defenseman (gone very quickly from “none” to “several” of those), scored four points in seven AHL games (three points on the power play) and rated even at a tough time for Bridgeport.

Caught a few locals in the QMJHL draft today and assume I’ve missed others. But Frank Sullivan, playing for Westminster and formerly for Notre Dame-Fairfield, tops them at 73rd to Charlottetown. Chad Krys of Ridgefield went 114th to Moncton. Another Ridgefield kid, Alex Rowella, to Shawinigan at 204th. Former Fairfield Prep defenseman Will Brophy goes to Chicoutimi at 225. Hamden’s Jeremy Germain (son of Eric) and Mike Lee to Acadie-Bathurst at 242 and Cape Breton at 247, respectively. And yet another Ridgefielder, McKay Flanagan, out of the Connecticut Oilers, to Victoriaville at 245.
