Marlies get to Tuesday: Monday notes

|

If you didn’t see the exhibition-game news, scroll down…

There’ll be a Game 7 in the West. Trevor Smith scored what proved to be the game-winner on a second-period power play, Drew MacIntyre made 36 saves, and the Marlies stayed alive with a win in Cedar Park. The deciding game is Tuesday, underway two and a half hours* after St. John’s and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton start Game 6. Will O’Neill won’t be around for that, suspended for the night for his Game 5 match penalty.

Up a level: Did you catch Drew Doughty’s celebration Sunday night after the overtime goal? Two things went through my mind: (1) Thank God for DVR (/hit rewind); and (b) someone is surely putting this on the Internet right now, right? Right.

And RIP, longtime AHL executive Gordie Anziano, and Ann B. Davis

*-What, they’re both 7:30 starts.
