Two more in: Monday notes

Drying out from a soggy night at Harbor Yard, though glad the Brakettes and Bluefish will give it another go on Sunday. Seemed like they were having fun. Decent crowd, too.

CapGeek tonight reported that Brett Gallant and Matt Donovan have re-signed; the math suggests it’s their qualifying offers. That leaves Casey Cizikas and Calvin de Haan (and Anders Nilsson, though he’s inked in the KHL) outstanding as restricted free agents. The qualifying offers expire Tuesday at 5 p.m. unless teams offer an extension.

Jordan Hill returns to St. John’s; the IceCaps officially announced the return of Blair Riley, too, though that’d come out earlier, along with Jason Jaffray and Kyle MacKinnon.

Recently retired Toby Petersen becomes an assistant coach in Springfield under Jared Bednar.

Genius, whoever sat them down to do this: The Islanders’ prospects say the names of towns on Long Island.

RIP, Tommy Ramone, Red Klotz and John Seigenthaler.

And (h/t: Kyle Young) Jaden Schwartz tweeted the other night that he’ll “be looking a little different this year” — wearing his late sister Mandi’s number.
