Living for a dream: Tuesday notes

What day is it? Yeah.

New Islanders goalie David Leggio’s mask made the rounds on Twitter today; from David Gunnarsson, it’s a pretty neat design that honors the Big Club’s history.

Catchup: Bill Ballou reported that Worcester has signed ex-Quinnipiac and Sound Tigers forward Jeremy Langlois (possibly paywalled, and hat tip Darryl Hunt). Bill also notes Yale defenseman Gus Young, one of the heroes of the ’13 championship game, a signing that was announced a while ago but we never mentioned, either, so.

A friendly reminder: We’ve got a Facebook page and a Twitter account that’ll feed all blog posts and newspaper articles right to your timeline or… timeline. Yeah.

Other stuff from recent days: a dude cornering the market on a Curt Flood card (lost the hat tip; apologies). An interesting idea about how a geological curiosity may explain a biological explosion (free registration). And examining the language of Bill S. Preston and Ted Theodore Logan (hat tip: Ben Zimmer).

And RIP, Carol Vadnais, Jimi Jamison and Stan Goldberg.
