First round of Bridgeport cuts

Note: The Islanders at first had Aaron Ness coming here, but that appears to have changed for the moment.

The Sound Tigers announced their first round of cuts. Notably remaining are tryouts Colton Gillies, Andrew Rowe and Tyler Shattock. Still here on AHL contracts: forwards Justin Courtnall and C.J. Stretch, the returning Chris Langkow and Scooter Vaughan, and defenseman Mark Nemec. Isles draft pick Lukas Sutter also remains. (The Sound Tigers release notes that newly acquired Kent Simpson is assigned to Bridgeport.)

West Haven’s Mike Pereira is among those sent to Stockton, along with Adam Phillips, Philippe Trudeau and veterans Keith Seabrook and Peter Sivak. The other PTOs, most notably Jeff Drouin-Deslauriers, were let go.

If nothing else changes, there’ll be 25 players on the ice Monday morning for Bridgeport’s first day up here.
