Return of 13: Thursday notes

For the moment Thursday at Wonderland, the absence of Anders Lee moved Sebastian Collberg up to that spot and Colton Gillies into Collberg’s spot.

News at noon that Colin McDonald has cleared waivers, well, that makes it all a question again. Brent Thompson professed not to have a definite answer where McDonald would go if he made it through waivers and came to Bridgeport.

“Obviously (he brings) leadership. He brings experience,” Thompson said. “He’s a great character kid with a great work ethic.”

They finished practice with extensive special-teams work. Though obviously those units will likely change, as well. Nature of the league.

If you are sent down, I guess getting sent down in time for the St. John’s trip is about as good as that gets. The team is scheduled to travel tomorrow.

Elsewhere, I am breathtakingly disappointed in Kevin Oklobzija that this story isn’t rife with references to “The Music Man”.

From Mike Vaccaro: This, a million times, this.

RIP, Nelson Bunker Hunt.

And RIP, Canadian hero Cpl. Nathan Cirillo. The CBC posted video also of the reception Sergeant-At-Arms Kevin Vickers received in the House of Commons today. Beautiful.
