No Gallant suspension/Reinhart, Collberg closer: Tuesday notes

A couple of newsy bits today, one of which broke after practice: Brett Gallant’s instigator penalty from the end of Sunday’s game has been rescinded, so he won’t be suspended at all. Bridgeport had asked the league to look at it. So the scoring streak could well be on the line Friday in the rematch in Springfield.

Griffin Reinhart was back on the ice. He was in a red jersey, which usually means no-contact, but he was battling pretty hard in some battle drills. “He wasn’t supposed to be,” Brent Thompson said with a smile. But he looked good. “I felt fine,” Reinhart said. “I skated Sunday, felt all right, took yesterday off.” He’s hopeful to be good to go this weekend. Thompson stuck with “day to day.”

That Harry Zolnierczyk-Kael Mouillierat-Colin McDonald line, assembled late Sunday, remained together. Sebastian Collberg was with Colton Gillies and Johan Sundstrom. “He’s working himself back in. We’ll make sure his conditioning’s good,” Thompson said.

Though Gallant avoided discipline, Albany didn’t. Mark Fraser will miss three games, including Sunday’s against Bridgeport; that’ll be Paul Thompson’s first game back.

Springfield received Frederic St. Denis back from Columbus.

Meanwhile, Fox Sports Arizona reports that Arizona State — Arizona State! what the holy how many — plans Division I hockey.
