Pedan to Vancouver

The Islanders announced that they’ve traded Andrey Pedan to Vancouver for Alexandre Mallet and a third-rounder in 2016.

Mallet had been with Kalamazoo and goes straight to Stockton. A third-year pro centerman, drafted at 20 after an 81-point season in the QMJHL, Mallet has six points in 77 AHL games split between Chicago and Utica, the Canucks’ AHL affiliates at the time. He’s got 40 points in 58 ECHL games.

Pedan never quite got on track here. Injury and inconsistency last year, and he wasn’t able to push his way up the depth chart this year. Maybe things will work better for him out there.
