Sunday’s game POSTPONED

Today’s game is postponed because of travel issues. More to come. (Including a makeup date, which could be a while.)

–From what we’re told Bridgeport’s bus broke down somewhere in the mid-Atlantic around 4 in the morning and they sat there for four hours. Brent Thompson said they’re still in New Jersey.

The makeup will come later in the season and likely midweek. “We have no available weekends whatsoever,” Howard Saffan said. Haven’t compared their workable makeups (since you can’t play four in five anymore, you’re virtually prohibited from playing midweek if you’ve got a three-in-three, and does Bridgeport ever have those) to Worcester’s to building availability, but the Sound Tigers’ next plausible date isn’t for at least a month.

–Bridgeport’s and Worcester’s makeup holes don’t match up well. Concur with Darryl Hunt that, triangulating, there is not much. There’s Super Bowl Sunday, Feb. 1, and March 16, a Monday. Both teams are at home before those dates. There are a few dates around Easter weekend, which is lightish for both teams. One is April 2, which can’t be acceptable to Worcester, which is in Hershey on April 1 and in Wilkes-Barre on April 3. So, basically, no. Easter, April 5, and Easter Monday, April 6, would also work, though Worcester has a game in Portland on April 7.
