Haven’t had a chance to give a look to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton game yet. If I had, I might’ve noticed that Colton Gillies didn’t finish it. Gillies sat out of practice today, at the doctor to evaluate an upper-body injury, Brent Thompson said. Thompson termed him day-to-day.
John Persson, on the other hand, appears at least close to returning for the first time since being injured on Dec. 6 in Allentown. He would make 13 forwards at the moment, as Bridgeport returned Peter Sivak to Stockton. Thompson has had consistent praise for Sivak. “I think Peter’s a great player. I think Peter can play in the American League on a regular basis,” he said. Numbers as they are, better to have him playing there. “When he comes up, he’s ready. He’s a first-class pro.”
Kent Simpson was also sent back to Stockton with Kevin Poulin back in Bridgeport as of yesterday.
