Ness an all-star: Thursday notes

What’s here is about ready to go: Sebastian Collberg is out of his red jersey, back in white (along with the three who skated on that line Sunday, Alan Quine, Kael Mouillierat and Colin McDonald). The rest looked much the same as they have the past few days.

What’s not: Mike Halmo, Brent Thompson said, is getting a second opinion on an injury not related to the one that’s kept him out since the first trip to Wilkes-Barre. “The timetable on him could be long-term,” Thompson said.

We knew Ryan Pulock was out at least through the all-star break, and his replacement came through today: position for position, Aaron Ness takes his spot in Utica. Well-earned for the captain, who has been a leader in all situations.

Back to the House of Pain tomorrow, then a busy weekend here, including Notre Dame at UConn on Sunday at noon.

Katie Strang on Chad LaRose’s comeback.

Who says there’s no momentum in hockey?

And Garrett Rank works his first NHL game tonight; Bob McKenzie’s story is fantastic.
