Waiting on a few things: Tuesday notes

And as the header says, may be updated…

Still no Brett Gallant (upper body) on the ice; Brent Thompson said he’s going through various tests of exertion over the next few days, and as he’s cleared through those he’ll be closer to getting cleared for practice. Thompson said he’s not expecting Gallant to play this weekend.

Nothing new on the other injured, Thompson said. With Colin McDonald back up with the Islanders, today’s practice was Saturday’s lineup minus Gallant plus Chris Langkow and Matt Lashoff.

A Lukas Sutter suspension from Saturday’s coincidental match penalties — likely just one game, from all we’ve heard (Edit, 4:45 p.m.: indeed, one game for both him and Justin Hodgman) — is expected today, so depending on McDonald’s status — game-time decision tonight, says Jack Capuano through Arthur Staple there — Bridgeport may be a forward short for Friday. Possible they add one. Edit, 6 p.m.: The Islanders made a decision early: They sent McDonald down.

Speaking of Syracuse, Andrei Vasilevskiy got called up when Tampa Bay* placed Evgeni Nabokov on waivers. Nabokov’s future plans are yet undetermined. They play tomorrow without Jonathan Marchessault and Mike Blunden, Marchessault for a couple of weeks, Blunden for the season, Lindsay Kramer reports.

Elsewhere, the Rangers and Ryan Malone appear set to part ways, which at least eases Hartford’s veteran logjam a little.

Sacred Heart has the Air Force Academy this Friday and Saturday in Milford, 1-0-3 in the past four. (Remember ties?)

And this Gordie Howe story is something else.

*-62 degrees in Tampa… 62 minutes to dig my car out this morning here.
