Brutal bus rides: Hershey pregame

The Sound Tigers got back to town after midnight last night after a 3 p.m. game in Manchester. Hershey’s brutal ride after a 7 p.m. home game got the Bears here at almost 5 a.m. Three-in-three. Good luck, gentlemen.

Last night’s three scratches get back in for Bridgeport, nine points back with 26 games to play. Not yet an option: Matt Carkner, placed on waivers this morning, coming off back surgery.

Colton Gillies is out sick for Bridgeport.

No Steve Oleksy for Hershey, but Jon Landry and Joel Broda (who scored last night, getting good minutes on the fourth line) are here. One to scratch each way.

Horrible news this morning: Former pro defenseman Steve Montador is dead at 35. Met him once at a charity golf tournament; nice man. RIP.
