Lashoff to Portland

Matt Lashoff was signed to be a veteran defenseman and a power-play guy on a team pushing for the playoffs while Ryan Pulock was out. Then he got hurt, the team slipped, he came back, the team won a couple, and then, well, this nine-game losing streak happened, with him out a couple of times.

Lashoff’s now a Portland Pirate. AHL transactions reveal that Bridgeport traded him to the Pirates tonight. There’s no immediate word on the return, though this doesn’t appear to be one of those wink-wink “future considerations” future-considerations deals. Something appears to be coming back.

Also, though Bridgeport hasn’t announced it, Stockton says Kent Simpson is on his way up with the departure of David Leggio.

Edit, 8:55 p.m.: Chris Roy reports it’s right winger Dyson Stevenson coming back from Portland for Lashoff. Stevenson, a rookie, has 16 points in 46 games for Gwinnett (ECHL) and two scoreless games for the Pirates.
