No days off: Monday notes, pre-deadline

No day off for the Sound Tigers. Brent Thompson changed plans last night and called them in for practice this morning at Wonderland. Skating, hard-working drills, more skating, more hard-working drills with skating, skating. No one lingered afterward, as you’d expect.

Matt Carkner was the only one not on the ice. “Maintenance day,” Brent Thompson said. “He was a little sore. We rested him.” Mike Halmo, though, was in a regular color for the first time. “He looked good,” Thompson said. “This was his first contact practice.” They’ll see how things go during the week.

No other movement, then, obviously apparent. The Big Club just picked up Tyler Kennedy, former Penguin, from San Jose for a 2016 conditional pick, then threw in a pick to get former Hershey Bears goalie Michal Neuvirth for Chad Johnson.

An hour to go.
