The Pennsylvania we never found: Lehigh Valley nonliveblog

No Allentown trip for us this year. Partly because we’re, um, on assignment today, so I’ll try to catch up later tonight and post some thoughts and lines and things. In the meantime, listen to Chuck Scott (audio/pay per view) and follow him and Paul and Gary Blockus and Tony Androckitis and Bob Rotruck.

The box should be here (R: Rank, T.Koharski. L: Boylan, Ritter) as Bridgeport tries to avoid a sole claim to the franchise’s longest losing streak, and this should be Worcester-Hartford.

Gary reported last night that Shayne Gostisbehere, injured in November, had been shut down for the season. He got that from Phantoms coach Terry Murray and, well, Gostisbehere. Interestingly, soon after, Flyers GM Ron Hextall told the Philly media that that wasn’t the case. Fun.

The Bruins signed Justin Hickman, Bridgeport ATO 11 months ago, to an entry-level contract. He went to assorted camps with Winnipeg last fall before going back to junior. Rochester signed Michael Pelech to a PTO, joining brother Matt. Don’t believe Adam is available.

(Yesterday was also Milt Schmidt’s 97th birthday.)

If you didn’t see the Blackhawks’ latest “What’s Your Goal” video, with Duncan Keith and the most relentlessly adorable little girl in creation, waste no more time. Greg Wyshynski has more.

And RIP, Edward Cardinal Egan.
