Changes/playoffs elsewhere: Wednesday notes

Wednesday was the third anniversary of the Sound Tigers’ last playoff game. The team that knocked them out got their playoffs started tonight, and former Bridgeport goalie Yann Danis made 27 saves in the Wolf Pack’s 3-1 win over Providence. Game 2 is Saturday in Hartford. Out in Rosemont, Ill., where Bridgeport played its only June game, Magnus Paajarvi’s second goal tied it with 1.0 seconds left for Chicago. It took 23 minutes and 10 seconds for Bobby Sanguinetti to win it for the Comets.

Portland-Manchester and San Antonio-OKC on Thursday.

The annual coaching chart got its first official entry Tuesday:

TEAM Old New

a-Former Norfolk Admirals, new San Diego Gulls.

Up top, Griffin Reinhart may be in for the Islanders on Thursday night, writes Arthur Staple. Lubomir Visnovsky was injured on a nasty hit Tuesday from Tom Wilson.

And powerful stuff from Daniel Carcillo on concussions, mental health, life after hockey and helping each other. Quite emotional.
