USA beats Russia; Arcobello nets winner

The young Americans came up with a big World Championship win this morning in the Czech Republic. Milford’s Mark Arcobello scored the eventual game-winner, a sweet little move across the left circle on a two-on-one yielding to a wrister beating Sergei Bobrovsky, and the United States beat Russia 4-2 to take over first place in Pool B. Brock Nelson added an empty-netter off an assist from Anders Lee.

A long way to go — Belarus is next, on Thursday, with Denmark, Slovenia and Slovakia also ahead before they even get to the quarterfinals — but a good start.
