Even out West: Monday notes

Dylan Larkin’s second pro game went OK: The latest hotshot Red Wings prospect scored his first two pro goals in the first period Monday night as Grand Rapids held on to beat Utica 4-2 and tie the Western Conference Final at 1. The series takes a few days off before they play Thursday, Friday and Sunday at Grand Rapids.

The usual suspects tacked on power-play goals for the Griffins, and the Comets scored a couple of late power-play goals on delay-of-game minors to make it interesting.

The Eastern Conference Final resumes Tuesday in Hartford, and there are two big conference final games in the ECHL as well.
