It ends for the Hartford Wolf Pack in the conference final, a 3-1 loss to Manchester for a four-game Monarchs sweep and the future Ontario Reign’s first trip to the Calder Cup Final, which begins next weekend.

Stamford’s Ryan Haggerty tied it in the second period, but Greenwich’s Sean Backman, off to the final, assisted on Adrian Kempe’s game-winner about five minutes later.

A good run for the Berkshire League champs, coming back to beat Providence in the first round and a solid win over Hershey last round. And Manchester, the league’s best team this year, gets a last hurrah.

EliteProspects notes a report that the Islanders have talked with Latvian winger Miks Indrasis.

Tom Kostopoulos re-upped in Wilkes-Barre.

The two Game 7s in the ECHL included overtime in the East, and the longest Game 7 in ECHL history, into triple overtime. Joe Devin scored the only goal at 45:35 of overtime to send the South Carolina Stingrays to the Kelly Cup Final. Drew MacKenzie of New Canaan gets a chance at a second consecutive Kelly Cup in a series with a few ex-Sound Tigers: The Allen Americans won the West, beating Ontario 3-1.
