Adieu, Colisee / Comets lead: Sunday notes

Islanders draft pick Michael Dal Colle and the Oshawa Generals are Memorial Cup champions after a 2-1 overtime win over the Kelowna Rockets. Dal Colle had five points in four games at the tournament.

That’s the last game at Le Colisee in Quebec. Bridgeport won its only visit, March 6, 2002; Patrick Leahy broke a tie with 2:28 left, the third of Bridgeport’s four third-period goals in a 5-3 win.

For the third time, Utica has a lead in the Western Conference Final. Jacob Markstrom made 32 saves to put Utica one win away from a date next weekend with Manchester. Brandon DeFazio, back from his suspension, assisted on the goal that put the Comets ahead for good. Cory Conacher gave Utica a lead Friday in Game 4, but Andreas Athanasiou won it in overtime to tie the series for Grand Rapids.

Game 6 is Tuesday back in Utica. If necessary, Game 7 is Wednesday.

From ScoutingTheRefs.com, a pretty neat conversation between Dominic Moore and Chris Rooney.

Blown away by the alma mater in the NCAA baseball tournament.

And RIP, Beau Biden.
