The ECHL’s Missouri Mavericks announced a two-year affiliation with the Islanders. Richard Matvichuk is their head coach. Based in Independence, next door to Kansas City. Unfortunately no New England twirl for the Mavericks this season.
There’s a report from Sweden (h/t EliteProspects) saying Frolunda will introduce Johan Sundstrom on Friday. Edit, 4:15 a.m.: Indeed, they’ve announced a two-year deal with Sundstrom. A tough loss for Bridgeport, but best for him, most likely.
