Arcobello non-tendered: Monday notes

Assembled, to the best of our ability, the annual Chicken Tenders list: players who weren’t tendered a qualifying offer, thus becoming unrestricted free agents Wednesday. A late addition: Milford’s Mark Arcobello, not tendered by Arizona after a season in which he played for four NHL teams. (They also non-tendered John Moore, whom they got from the Rangers at the trade deadline in the Keith Yandle trade.) Forgot also to include Thomas Hickey, who Arthur Staple reports is close to a new deal.

The Islanders should probably sign Dana Tyrell just to keep him away from the Sound Tigers: He’s 5-11-16 in 15 games against Bridgeport for Norfolk, Syracuse and Springfield (5-4-9 in six games last year), 42-60-102 in 217 AHL games against everybody else.

It was a rough day for players from that Yale-Quinnipiac final in Pittsburgh in 2013: Jordan Samuels-Thomas, Eric Hartzell and Antoine Laganiere were all non-tendered. (Kenny Agostino survived for Calgary, though.)

The Islanders put out their development camp roster, including the Blue-White scrimmage teams. Quinnipiac’s Sam Anas is among the invitees.

The Kings say they’ve terminated Mike Richards‘ contract for a “material breach.” Well. Katie Strang reported that stemmed from an incident that came to light Friday.

The ECHL matched the NHL with five minutes of three-on-three overtime.

And the Hall of Fame class included former Choate star Angela Ruggiero. It also included a man who moved the Whalers to North Carolina. Next you’ll tell me Peter Shipman’s a hall of famer.
