Islanders sign Leblanc

The Islanders announced they’ve signed Louis Leblanc to a two-way contract. Leblanc was a first-round pick of Montreal’s, went to Harvard for a year, went to play junior in Montreal and has four years of pro hockey. He spent last year with Norfolk, playing center and right wing against Bridgeport.

Edit, 12:50: Leblanc has 284 pro games, so he counts as an AHL veteran. He qualifies, though, for the one-a-night exception if he were to dress for Bridgeport on a night five other vets were dressed. (Joe Whitney also qualifies.)
