They’re all coaching now: Friday notes

An Adirondack-Manchester ECHL game might be worth a trip this year just for the Sound Tigers nostalgia. The Adirondack Thunder named Cail MacLean head coach Thursday. MacLean, you may remember from the 2003-04 team; Manchester recently named 2004-05 Bridgeport defenseman Rich Seeley head coach.

Trumbull’s Alex Vazzano said he’s signed with Greenville, hoping for an invite to Hartford’s camp. Good to have a spot, he said; he enjoyed The Big Assist and getting the win over Jonathan Quick. (I discovered Sunday that my “Vazzano made some big saves” tweet didn’t go through last Wednesday.)

Rick Gorman, head of the PHPA’s Career Enhancement Program for post-hockey counseling, is retiring. Talked to him once for a story; seemed like a nice guy. Good luck to him.

And way too belatedly, RIP, Wayne Carson and Ernie Maresca.
