Welcome back, Pulock: Springfield pregame

New guy. Ryan Pulock’s here, paired with Kevin Czuczman tonight against Springfield, after a good week or so on the Islanders’ roster.

“It’s been fun,” Pulock said. “I’ve got some good practices in. I’ve been working on some extra stuff after practice. It’s been good. Obviously, I want to play. It’s good to be back.”

Undisclosed how long this will last.

“They basically said they want me to get some games in,” Pulock said, “which I want to do, too.”

Bridgeport dressed seven defensemen for warmup and rushed them all, but it’d appeared Bridgeport was going to play four right-handed defensemen tonight. (Don’t tell #IslesTwitter. Poor @StapeNewsday.) The all-righty pair would be Matt Carkner (Brent Thompson said he wanted to keep the leadership group together at home, so Carkner stays in) and Jesse Graham. Thompson said deciding who plays the left will basically come down to who’s more comfortable on his off side, which likely will be the veteran. That’s how they rushed, at least.

Bridgeport scratches: Collberg (healthy), Leblanc (veteran/healthy), Verhaeghe (healthy), Cullity (healthy), Leduc (healthy), Rowe (upper body), C.Jones (upper body), and one more after warmup: Matt Finn (healthy).

Two wins, start of the season, no changes to the lineup except this Pulock kid. Those sitting out, “they will get their chance,” Thompson said.

First time Bridgeport would play four righty defensemen since all the way back on… April 19, last game of last season (Carkner (who played the left then, too), Pulock, Mayfield and Mark Louis).
