All right, all right: Tuesday notes

The Sound Tigers didn’t use a fifth right-handed defenseman in their team history until their second season. It’s possible they dress five tomorrow night, as Brent Thompson said Matt Finn is day-to-day with a minor upper-body thing (Finn practiced today). What strange world is this? Regardless, Thompson says he’s not worried about it if it comes to that, that guys should be able to play both sides. It’ll be fun, though. There’ve been only seven right-handed defensemen to play a Bridgeport playoff game.

Simsbury’s Tommy Cross got hit with a late instigator Saturday, so he’ll miss tomorrow’s game. The P-Bruins got some other reinforcements.

Willymama made Uni Watch on Sunday.

Sunday’s IT problem means there’s not even an archived version of the game on AHL Live. Party like it’s 2005. Maybe there are VHS tapes floating around somewhere. The off-ice crew had some issues of their own with the Internet, which may account for the shifting shots on goal in the final gamesheet. Hartford started out with six shots in the first and 12 in the second; postgame, that’d become 10-8.

This feels like it could become a Twitter/blogmeme.

There’s been a fascinating OHL story in Flint, where a coaching-staff housecleaning (with some kooky reasons) turned into a player strike and the staff’s reinstatement. The assistant coach there: 25-game Sound Tiger Dave Karpa, who arrived here a few weeks shy of 10 years ago.

Upset to hear that two good men lost their jobs up in New Haven yesterday. This business, man.

And RIP, Aldo Guidolin, Tommy Hanson and Allen Toussaint.
