Pelech back up, Pulock over: Springfield pregame

With Adam Pelech called up this morning (Johnny Boychuk on injured reserve), Bridgeport will go with the younger defense tonight, saving Matt Carkner for the home games this weekend.

That also moves Ryan Pulock over to the left side with Jesse Graham. Talked to Pulock yesterday for this story in today’s paper, and a quote that hit the cutting-room floor was about playing the left. We’d talked a bit earlier about playing his off side for a story that hasn’t happened yet, so I wanted to follow up about a few shifts he’d played on the left with Graham a few weeks ago.

“The one game I had a few shifts there. It was different just because it was the first time,” Pulock said. “In the middle of the game, it was a bit different, more so in the neutral zone, a different position just because of the way we play our system.
“I feel fine over there. If I worked on it in practice, I’m sure it’d be fine.”

So there’s that.

One to scratch for Bridgeport. Was reportedly a gametime decision but looks like Jesse Root. Kyle Burroughs’ season debut, as expected.
