The AHL suspended Matt Carkner for Friday’s game at Providence for his second-period hit Sunday on Hershey captain Garrett Mitchell. Called a cross-checking minor at the time, it was reviewed for supplemental discipline as boarding.
The Sound Tigers were shortish on defense this morning as it was with Jesse Graham reported under the weather. It seems likely now they’ll need to bring someone up. After they just sent youngsters down to get them playing, we’ll see who that is.
