Milner sticks, Williams down: Wednesday notes (updated: Leduc up)

Christopher Gibson’s return from the NHL meant someone had to go down. And that turns out to be Stephon Williams. Parker Milner remained with the Sound Tigers opposite Gibson at Wonderland this morning.

Brent Thompson wouldn’t bite on a question asking if that was more because of Williams’ weekend (a rough one period in Springfield on Friday, five goals in a difficult game for the team Sunday) or because Milner seized the moment (16-for-16 in relief Friday, a win Saturday). “We need to have (Williams) playing games,” Thompson said. “This gives him an opportunity to get his game back in check.”

Justin Florek and Jesse Graham were both back on the ice. Graham was the first one off, though; Thompson didn’t expect him to be ready for the weekend, and though no one was yet up from Missouri (the Mavs played (and shootout-won) in Oklahoma last night, and it didn’t look like they held anyone out), it’s likely someone will be.

Edit: Loic Leduc, via the AHL transactions list, is on his way up from Missouri.

Edit2: Meanwhile, the other goalie in all this, Missouri’s own Josh Robinson, is the ECHL Goalie of the Month. He’s 17-0-1, for crying out loud.
