Reconvening for the playoffs: Wednesday notes

Tomorrow’s story in the paper is going to be about handling the changes to the lineup that come from losing one of your top two centermen (not to mention having your top defenseman and top goalie up, too). The fallout continues: The top two lines kind of re-coalesced the way they had earlier last weekend, with Michael Dal Colle joining James Wright and Bracken Kearns, and Connor Jones in Alan Quine’s spot with Mike Halmo and Tanner Fritz. Today, they also had Sebastian Collberg in what had been Marc-Andre Cliche’s spot on the third line with Ben Holmstrom and Justin Florek, and Cliche in what had been, more or less, Jones’, with Jared Gomes and Colin Markison.

Kyle Burroughs took the whole practice today, so all nine defensemen were on.

Queens native and Ohio State senior Anthony Greco joined the team this morning on an ATO. Flashed some speed this morning. “We just wanted to bring him in — (without) Ross Johnston, we needed another body, and he ended up being a guy our staff has known,” Brent Thompson said. “He’s played with (Tanner) Fritz. He’s a speed guy. He works hard. He gives us a safety net, and it’s an opportunity to establish himself.”

Greco is the first Sound Tiger to be assigned, and would be the first to wear, 74 in play that counts. (It was Sebastien Sylvestre’s training-camp number. The sweater remained.)

A Leafs TV interview with Mark Arcobello from yesterday.

North Branford’s Adam Erne goes up to join the Lightning after Syracuse’s season ends.

Former Fairfield Prep goalie Matt Beck tweeted yesterday that he’s going to Vermont.

Darn right.

And RIP, Milt Pappas and Pearl Washington.
