At least one Game 7: Friday notes

Game 7 in Hershey on Sunday at 5: the Penguins won decisively tonight at home behind five points from captain Tom Kostopoulos, who a dozen years ago was a key piece of the first Penguins team to beat Bridgeport in the playoffs. Carter Rowney and Jake Guentzel had three points apiece.

Ontario and San Diego were headed to overtime at this writing, tied at 3 after a back-and-forth third period, with the Reign leading the series 2-1. Sean Backman with the clipping minor late in the first period. Edit: Ontario wins at 6:29 of OT on Mike Amadio’s first pro goal, on his 20th birthday. Kevin Gravel’s shot off the end boards came to Amadio, stepping up at the right dot.

Three games Saturday, every series but Bears-Penguins. Lake Erie (in Game 5), Toronto (in Game 6), and with a win tonight Ontario (in Game 5) will be looking to move on.
