Krys to the Blackhawks: Day 2

Ridgefield’s Chad Krys went to the Blackhawks early on Day 2 of the NHL draft, 45th overall, the middle of the second round. The defenseman, who was with the National Team Development Program, is bound for Boston University.

He’s yet another local for the Blackhawks, who also drafted Westport’s Mike Paliotta before trading him to Columbus last summer, just days after they acquired his old NTDP teammate, Stamford’s Ryan Haggerty, from the Rangers. Edit: They’ve also got Greenwich’s John Hayden, who’s at Yale.

The Islanders don’t pick until 110th. I might be out of touch for most of this, so wrapup later, most likely.
