Maintaining speed: Tuesday notes

The bad news is four Sound Tigers were missing for maintenance days today, two games in. The good news is that’s all it is, according to Brent Thompson. Adam Pelech, Bracken Kearns, Travis St. Denis and Ross Johnston didn’t take part in the whole hard practice, which included plenty of chalk talk and plenty of skating (and a fair bit of yelling).

Thompson said Pelech, who’d taken a shot off an arm late in Sunday’s game, is day-to-day, then said the same thing about the other three guys. Pelech and Kearns, at least, were receiving treatment after Sunday’s game. “We’ll make sure we’re ready for the weekend,” Thompson said.

(Appears we won’t be riding along. Will set you up with some links as usual on Friday and Saturday.)

Elsewhere, St. John’s looked rough defensively Friday night in Hartford, and if that’s going to happen, can’t do much better than having someone like Yann Danis to bail you out.

General Fanager is gone (good reason, at least); the Twitter seemed to lean toward CapFriendly as the replacement.

Via UniWatch, some neat details about last night’s ALCS Game 3, with Trevor Bauer’s gushing pinky and how it affected the uniform set.

And this is an old one, but I don’t think I’ve ever linked to it: Mental Floss on why A&W’s third-pound burger failed.
