Jones day-to-day: Friday notes

Bridgeport practiced in Toronto on Friday before heading back into the United States. They apparently did so without Connor Jones: We’re told he’s day-to-day, upper body. Sounds doubtful for tomorrow in Rochester, but Sunday in Utica is possible.

We should be around to to follow tomorrow’s game, though might be a little distracted early with other stuff. Come hang out.

Josh Ho-Sang’s debut sounded like a good one.

Prescout. Charlie Lindgren’s third shutout. The Amerks have lost three in a row and seven out of nine. And scoreboard watching tonight: Providence blew a two-goal lead and lost to Albany, so remains three ahead of Bridgeport but now with two more games played; Lehigh Valley held on at Springfield, so is a point up on the Sound Tigers and even in games played again; and Hershey spoiled Mike McKenna’s Syracuse debut, scoring four goals on him and one more on Kristers Gudlevskis. (Refs Anderson and Wilk will be together tomorrow in Rochester. So, um, prescout?) Hershey’s Pheonix Copley left that game with dehydration.

Sacred Heart wins Game 1 at Bentley and can advance with a win tomorrow night.

And the CIAC brackets are out. Tough break for Newtown in Division III. Should be an interesting tournament, with lots of upset potential, though I don’t think there’s a real “yeesh, they play in the first round?” game this year. (NFI-Conard might be the closest. Two very solid teams.)
