The Jaro Question: Tuesday notes

No Sound Tigers practice this morning, not that I could’ve gotten out of the parking lot anyway (#travelban! The sleet came along early, for good or ill). But JaroWatch is in full effect after last night’s 8-4 Islanders loss, in which both Thomas Greiss and J.F. Berube gave up four goals. Laura Albanese, in Raleigh for Newsday, got lots of Jaroslav Halak stuff from Doug Weight before tonight’s game, including that the Islanders plan to talk about what to do with Halak tomorrow. Scroll back on her timeline for more.

Though the Islanders are off tomorrow, Bridgeport should be back to work. Got the car mostly cleared, so hopefully I’ll be there too.

Elsewhere: Islanders draft pick Jake Bischoff was named Big 10 defensive player of the year. Allan Kreda on Josh Ho-Sang, including some of the stuff we mentioned a while ago about his growing up with soccer.

Edit, 6:25 p.m.: The Penguins signed Northeastern’s Zach Aston-Reese, probably the top college free agent. He’ll join Wilkes-Barre/Scranton.

And RIP, John Andariese.
