So long, old friends: Friday notes

Two teams played their last tonight. The Albany Devils are gone after falling to Toronto in the 12th-longest game in AHL history. Justin Holl scored after 46:43 of overtime, a shot that appeared to redirect, and Toronto won the series in four. Earlier, it ended for St. John’s: Gabriel Dumont scored early in OT after Stefan Matteau tied it for the IceCaps, but Syracuse takes the series in four.

Farewell, Albany and St. John’s. We’ll miss you. Lots.

Providence jumped out to an early lead and forced Game 5 at Wilkes-Barre with a 4-2 win tonight. The deciding game is Sunday afternoon.

The Pacific Division’s Game 3s, Ontario-San Diego and Stockton-San Jose, are tied going to the third at this writing.

Here’s the press release on Worcester.
