Bears of all sorts: Sunday notes

Two fantastic Game 5s in the East Atlantic Division today, and it’ll be a 3-4 division final. Providence held on for a win at Wilkes-Barre, with Zane McIntyre (sorry, Western Conference voters: goalie of the year) tossing in a routine 50 saves. The Bruins will meet Hershey, which held on to beat the Phantoms as the road team won all five games in that series. The division final starts Saturday in Hershey.

That just leaves the Pacific. Linden Vey and Stockton forced a Game 5. That’ll be Tuesday. That would also be Game 5 in the other Pacific series, but San Diego can finish off Ontario on Monday in the meantime.

Right on, Edmonton. (Hey, we’re hockey fans.)

World Championship’s coming. Brock Nelson, Anders Lee, Chris Drury among the locally tied. It starts Friday.

And a great story by onetime colleague Marty Klinkenberg on the legendary Joey Moss.
