Sweet win: End of weekend notes

Hershey takes a lead back home from Providence: Madison Bowey scored early in overtime after the Bruins tied it twice, and the Bears took a 3-2 series lead with a 3-2 win in Game 5. Compared to the past couple of games, Sunday’s 31-17 shots disparity looks almost normal. The Bears got outshot, the league notes, 110-43 but still won two out of three.

Syracuse looks to wrap up its series Monday night in Toronto.

The Memorial Cup field is set, and it’ll include Mathew Barzal, the Islanders draft pick, fresh off a WHL championship with Seattle and an MVP performance from him. They’ll join Saint John, Erie (with Dylan Strome) and host Windsor at the Memorial Cup, which starts Friday.

And RIP, Steve Palermo and Powers Boothe.
