The Sound Tigers announced an Islanders-Rangers exhibition game, Sept. 22 at 7:30 p.m., at Harbor Yard. Tickets go on sale June 2 through the usual sources, and group-sales info is in the link.
Sixth NHL preseason game in Bridgeport, and the fourth different team to come in. The Bruins drew nearly 7,000 in 2003, then sold the place out in 2011 and 2014. The Caps drew over 6,000 last year, and the Devils drew 4,700 in 2006.
My sources were semi-dicey on this, but it looks like the Rangers haven’t played a preseason game in an AHL arena since 2011, when they played the Devils in Albany. Interesting that they come here.
