Happy Canada 150: Friday notes

We’ve somehow made it to July 1. I know there hasn’t been a lot of hockey here since that night in Springfield, but man, feels like there hasn’t been a moment’s rest along the way. Ehh. Whatever. It’s Canada Day (the 150th for our buds up north), which means only one thing: Free Agency.

The annual posts will go up sometime in the next 12 hours. Stuff as it happens. (Have heard tell of one AHL deal likely to come earlyish.)

More evidence: Josh Ho-Sang is awesome.

Ren Lavoie said Florida re-signed Chase Balisy and Reece Scarlett. Andy Strickland had a couple of Bridgeport alums headed to new homes tomorrow. Adrian Dater says Kenny Agostino is Boston-bound.

Justin Bourne has left the Marlies to return to writing, with the new Atlantic. And Rochester has its man, a familiar face there:

Sad to see the end of The Carmichael Show. So well-written. Such great performances. Ah well.

Tip of cap to Peter Mansbridge.

And RIP, Gary DeCarlo, who’ll always have an unwitting place in Sound Tigers history.
