The Islanders have signed former Devils lefty defenseman Seth Helgeson to a one-year, two-way contract.
Helgeson’s a veteran of 218 games with Albany and another 50 with New Jersey, making him one of those exempt V-320 vets, one permitted per game. Steady performer on a pretty steady Albany blue line the past few years. He’ll likely bring some experience to what otherwise looked at the moment to be a young corps.
