Place your bets: Tuesday notes

A Bridgeport story often comes in several acts. The third is often “Magic Johnson’s proposed movie theater and hotel and such was never built, and that lot remains vacant.” Or “With the casino dead, the city managed to build a ballpark and later an arena, then got rid of the ballpark.” But here’s yet another Bridgeport story, with yet another casino: MGM wants to build one in the East End, but the governor is skeptical. See you in Act 2.

Anyway. Spent a little time on the Island on Tuesday and wrote a little something on a tryout kid whose brother is on the team. More to come the rest of the week.

We did the annual rules changes bit Monday night.

News from Washington: Aaron Ness is in the hunt for a Caps job. The Bears invited Jeremy Langlois and Taylor Cammarata to camp.

Milford’s Mark Naclerio gets a tryout in Allentown.

Congrats to the legendary Jim Gregory.

Good thoughts to Brian Boyle.

And RIP, Stanislav Petrov, Miguel Gonzalez, Harry Dean Stanton, Bobby “The Brain” Heenan and Ted Christopher.
