Familiar faces: Rangers postgame

The Rangers took their first penalty, and the group the Islanders sent on included Josh Ho-Sang and Ryan Pulock. About like you’d expect.

Then the second unit had Mitchell Vande Sompel at the point, a group that included Steve Bernier, Kyle Schempp, some old dude named Beauvillier or something, and Casey Bailey, who as the second power play ended was in position when Beauvillier’s one-timer was knocked down in front to put it away.

Then came the Islanders’ first penalty, and hopping over the boards were Connor Jones and Steve Bernier, with Kane Lafranchise and Kyle Burroughs. Next up up front were Josh Bailey (who has the longest active scoring streak for a Sound Tiger, by the way, seven years running) and Ben Holmstrom.

I guess what I’m going for is, even if you were hoping for Tavares or Eberle, the names were kinda familiar.

Apologies for the lack of postgame reaction: Had to scramble postgame for Pulock and Ho-Sang after the Islanders hit pregame traffic (happy Friday). There’ll be plenty to talk about soon enough. Expecting some kind of camp roster over the weekend, and then things get going Monday morning.
