Don’t move: Tuesday notes

As was foretold by Arthur Staple before last night’s Islanders game, no Bridgeport changes as they got back to work Tuesday morning at Harbor Yard. (Well, some changes, a couple of forward-lines rearranged and a little defense-pair tweakage; we’ll double-check on it all later in the week.) We wrote a whole story last year about how they went nearly a month without a transaction, and it was nearing the non-lockout record, and, well…

Crazy.

Transaction elsewhere: Eight years later, Matt Moulson may finally be coming to Bridgeport… as a Rochester American on Sunday. Edit, 3:45: Nope again! Buffalo sent him to Ontario. And Hartford may add a goalie.

The Sound Tigers Coach’s Show returns to The Original Vazzy’s on Dec. 20.

The Star Wars jerseys raised $3,132 for Bridgeport Fire Fallen Heroes, Fairfield Police Union Scholarship Fund and Griffin Hospital, the team said.

Today’s AHL suspensions include a familiar name as well as a couple of P-Bruins (only one of whom played Sunday).

And after the Islanders called us and Newsday last week, one of their competitors for Belmont pulled out of the running, Newsday’s Robert Brodsky reported. (The Coliseum’s AHL-team lease requirement got an extension, he also reported, which, notes Randi Marshall, is fascinating.)
