Back to… 15: Tuesday notes

Tanner Fritz returned to his usual spot today, but we’re thrown off again: Casey Bailey sat out at Wonderland. Lower body, said Brent Thompson, hoping it’s a day-to-day thing, but Bailey was getting checked out. Josh Holmstrom was in his spot in his absence. We’ll see, again, how they look next time: After yesterday’s practice, they’ll take tomorrow off and get back at it Thursday.

John Altavilla on Bob Crawford‘s first NHL game.

Happy 35th birthday, ex-Tiger, current writer Justin Bourne. I have weirdly never been so happy to find a picture of the Tough Pumpkins On Ice sweater.

Here’s to the high school football winners: Darien, Hand, Killingly and, in a classic, St. Joseph. It’s now officially high school hockey season. Well, Saturday, anyway, for real, with 24 games, including Hand at Barlow, the Tigers’ coaching debut for AHL linesman Luke Galvin.

And happy Hanukkah. (Though I’m told that AP-style spelling marks me as one not celebrating.)
