Return/Olympics: Thursday notes

Optional today at Wonderland, after which Brent Thompson said to expect Josh Ho-Sang back in the lineup tomorrow against Providence. “We need him going. We need Josh to play the way Josh can, and also buy into our team concept,” Thompson said.

At least at the end of practice, he hadn’t been told of any call-ups or to hold anybody out tomorrow night before the Big Club gets back to work Saturday afternoon at the Garden (or, technically, at tomorrow afternoon’s practice). That could, certainly, change anytime in the next 29 hours.

Kevin Poulin and Chris Lee are going to the Olympics. Lots of familiar names on Canada’s roster; all of them have played in the AHL, including three on current rosters. Edit2, 3:10: The final additions to the U.S. Olympic roster include former Bridgeport goalie David Leggio.

Milford’s Mark Naclerio went to Austria.

Edit, 2:45: Texas announced it acquired Westport’s Michael Paliotta from the Marlies.

And forgot to link yesterday: All-Star Game on NHL Network this year. It will also be free on AHL Live.
