Ho-Sang out: Providence pregame

Josh Ho-Sang sits out tonight. Brent Thompson said he’s day-to-day, upper-body, and again, apparently lingering from Tuesday’s practice. Then again, Thompson yesterday expected Ho-Sang to play, so this isn’t the right direction.

Mitch Vande Sompel sits out his first game from Wednesday’s injury. But Stephen Gionta comes back for the first time in a month and a half, sliding in with the Joneses. Matt Gaudreau had been there yesterday morning, but he went with the Holmstroms in warmup while Kyle Schempp stretched near the red line. Pat Cullity also draws back in as they play the only six defensemen they have.

From Jason Chaimovitch, Ben Holmstrom tonight becomes the fourth AHLer in the past decade to get to 200 consecutive games, led by our old buddy Sean Backman, 251. Jon DiSalvatore made it to 217, and Alex Henry reached 203. Meanwhile, Holmstrom becomes the 14th Sound Tiger to play 200 games, and why not sporcle-quiz that one.

Good to see Jay Leach has reunited Fitzgerald with JFK.
