Sleep on it: Thursday notes

(That Tuesday home game has my days all messed up. Keep thinking it’s Friday.)

Still to be determined if Josh Ho-Sang is ready to play for the weekend’s games, Friday at Providence and Sunday at home vs. Hartford. He did practice with contact today and did some power-play work, so that’s closer than he’s been in almost a week.

Tomorrow’s opponent took care of business with a couple of guys who were still on PTOs.

Told that Pink in the Rink raised $5,741.85 for the Connecticut Breast Health Initiative on Saturday.

The traditional classic between the U.S. and Canada, going to the North 2-1. Genevieve Lacasse made 44 saves, too many of them ridiculous. Now maybe they meet again in a week.

Our ol’ buddy Mikko Koskinen with 22 saves for Finland in a 5-2 win. Canada beat Switzerland with a couple of early assists for Chris Lee.

The men play again tonight Eastern time. Losing to Slovakia, too, will make things.. tough.

And yet another horrific day yesterday in a town where several Florida Panthers players live and have lived.
